MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to seek riddance of a complaint filed against him which seeked out contempt action against the actor for posting court orders in cases against him on a website.

This earlier complaint against Salman Khan was filed in a magistrate’s court.

Activist Hemant Patil had filed the complaint against Salman Khan in a Bandra court for allegedly posting court proceedings on a website called www.salmankhanfiles.com. The complaint stated that the actor had committed contempt of court by uploading the proceedings online. The magistrate had then issued summons to the actor on 10 July, 2013.

Salman Khan has, however, said in his petition that the website was created only so that the media would not report anything incorrectly. The website only gave factual information about the cases he was involved in. He also added that no contempt was committed by him.

The petition will now be coming up for hearing before Justice KU Chandiwal, on 27 August, 2013.
