Reports had earlier suggested that Sakshi would be debuting in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But now, it is speculated that Bhansali is in two minds whether to launch a newcomer or not. “Sakshi was assistant director on Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani (2015). He has been debut-ready since last February when the film was supposed to roll. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra was to direct the romantic musical, but Bhansali is taking his time to decide if he wishes to bank on two newcomers. Since it’s an expensive project, the filmmaker wants to take his time,” a source told mid-day.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has earlier launched Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in 2007’s Saawariya and it was a total flop at the box-office. There is news that the script could undergo an overhaul. Sakshi has been very restless due to these delays and hence, it is reported that he has approached another production house for his debut. The source tells mid-day, “He has done a screen test for Dharma Productions.” Neither the production nor Sakshi were available for comments.
