‘Satyagraha’ Is Modern Day ‘Raajneeti’: Prakash Jha

Prakash Jha’s maybe becoming formulistic with his films and the latest ‘Satyagraha’ too promises to be an extension of his earlier venture. But the film like ‘Raajneeti’ is based on human relationships, says director Prakash Jha.

MUMBAI: As Prakash Jha’s ‘Satyagraha’ is set to release on 30 August, the film maker says that the film is an extension of his 2010 Hit ‘Raajneeti’.

While ‘Rajneeti’ was about family betrayal, ego-wars and modern-day politics, ‘Satyagraha’ too is an extension of the same with a little emphasis of a strong bonding between father and son. “It’s modern-day Rajneeti”, says Prakash Jha

Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn play father and son in the film and ‘Satyagraha’ is more on relationship than the politics.

Prakash Jha, even before ‘Satyagraha’ releases has planned a sequel to the unreleased film. It will be more about unconventional politics, he says.

Off late, Prakash Jha has become formulaic in his approach with his films and faced a lot of flak over repetitive narrative.

Will ‘Satyagraha’ manage to break the formulae, will be seen only once the film releases. Especially if the sequel is being planned way before the film hits theatres!

‘Satyagraha’ also stars Amrita Rao, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Rampal in the lead and is slated to release on 30 August.
