Shah Rukh, Aamir Agree But Salman Refuses ‘Bombay Talkies’
MUMBAI: There has been a lot of buzz over Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan coming together for a special song that’s going to be featured in the anthology film ‘Bombay Talkies’. The latest buzz surrounding the movie is that Salman Khan was also approached to be a part of this ambitious project. Unfortunately, Salman had to decline the offer as he had trouble assigning dates given his busy schedule.
It is also said that Bollywood’s leading ladies Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will be joining Shah Rukh and Aamir in this special song. The makers of ‘Bombay Talkies’ are all set to bring in the big stars in order to garner more attention to the film that celebrates of 100 years of Hindi cinema.
A source close to the film said: “The point was to get these big names from the industry in one song which will be common to all the four short stories that form the movie. Salman was approached but he declined citing date issues.”
However, the source adds that after learning that Shah Rukh has already signed on to the project Salman became less interested in the project: “Salman didn’t want to be in the same frame as Shah Rukh. It’s common knowledge that after their spat a few years ago, the two don’t see eye-to-eye. And when he found out that SRK has given his nod for the song, he didn’t show much interest. Though SRK hasn’t shot for it yet, it looks difficult to get both these actors together for the song.”
It’s quite disappointing that Salman declined the offer to be a part of this big tribute to Hindi cinema as it would have been great to see the three Khans sharing the same screen space.
Plans are to either feature the song at the opening or the closing of the film’s credits. It is being choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant and will . While Aamir Khan has completed shooting for the song, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to begin the shooting as he was busy shooting.
