[tps_footer]Happy New Year is 2014’s biggest film. Everyone is waiting for Diwali so that they can enjoy Shah Rukh Khan’s entertainer. With Shah Rukh Khan in it, few things are a given…or so you thought. Obviously, you all might be expecting a romantic comedy extravangaza from the King of Romance again but sadly, Happy New Year isn’t one of those.
Yes, you read right. There is hardly any romantic angle between Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in the film. She is one of the guys in the film who is brought in to teach dance to others. Her charcter is very boastful about her skills and leaves no chance to assert it. So she will not be seen romancing Shah Rukh in the film.
Apparently, it was Shah Rukh’s decision to drop the romantic angle in it. He wanted Farah Khan to concentrate more on the premise and less on the romance. He also made her dilute the romance a lot. Well, not that we are complaining but Shah Rukh Khan, we hardly see on screen these days given you less quantity and more quality policy. So when we do, we like to see you romance and evoke the same feeling in us. We just hope whatever little you have allowed to use, whets our appetite.
