Sooraj Pancholi To Get A Movie, Thanks To Salman Khan

It is a known fact that if one has blessings of Salman Khan, survival in the industry can get that much easier. One at least gets his or her due and then depending on their caliber and skills, they either float or drown.

Salman Khan has asked Puri Jagannadh, writer of ‘Wanted’ to script an actioner on similar lines for his protégé, Sooraj Pancholi.

Wanted, directed by Prabhudeva that released in 2009, gave Salman Khan not only a re-entry in the big league but also was one of the earliest films to earn Rs. 100 crore. Wanted, which marked a turning point in the 50 years old actor’s career, was the official remake of the Telugu hit, Pokiri, which was directed by Jagannadh. He also wrote the story and screenplay of the Hindi adaptation.

Jagannadh, who is a huge Bhai fan, always kept in touch with Khan and has been coaxing him to do a Telugu film since then. The Sultan star has always laughed off the offer but promised to do at least one more of his Telugu adaptions in Hindi.

Earlier this year, Jagannadh wrote an action thriller film with Khan in mind. Jagannadh was in for a surprise when he approached Khan with the film to get his thoughts and also to approach him to act in it. Khan instead suggested that Jagannadh to take his `Hero’ actor Sooraj Pancholi!!

“Salman already has a packed slate with back-to-back projects lined up till the end of 2017 and has no dates to spare. So he urged Puri to write a commercial film along the lines of Wanted for his protege Sooraj,“ reveals a source close to the project.

The source added, “For Salman, Sooraj is family. The two even partied together during Diwali when Salman was at a new resort in Goa with his family. He is a part of all his family gatherings and he wants the boy to get back into action, a.s.a.p.”

Sooraj made his debut with Athiya Shetty in Hero (2015) directed by Nikkhil Advani has yet to sign a second film.
