MUMBAI: Whoever says chivalry is dead, clearly hasn’t met the reigning King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. His most recent co-star in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, Katrina Kaif has lavished praise on the superstar, calling him a true gentleman.

At a promotional event for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ (JTHJ), Katrina revealed about her co-star: “He is very gentlemanly. He will always open the door for you. If you come in, he’ll stand up and he always pays attention to the small things.”

“When we were shooting the song ‘Ishq Shava’ (for JTHJ), it was freezing cold. As soon as it was called cut, he would make sure I had a blanket. You don’t see that a lot these days. Gentlemanly behaviour has gone out of fashion, so it’s nice to see it,” she added.

Shah Rukh Khan is known to be an extremely chivalrous man, who respects and takes care of women. His female fans swear by his gentlemanly nature when they meet him, and his lady loves on screen too, sing praise of his well-bred behaviour. Inside sources from the Industry have revealed that he is the most chivalrous co-star, and treats all his heroines like Princesses on sets. It is no wonder that all the B’town ladies love him and want to work with him over and over again!

However, Katrina is sad that the Switzerland song planned by late Yash Chopra for ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ could not be shot and reveals 12 saris were readied for it.

“Personally, I think it was a little bit sad, it was a little bit emotional for us that we didn’t get to do it. Yashji (Chopra) kept on coming up to me and saying that it’s not going to be a shoot, it’s going to be a party, we are not working,” she said.

Plans to shoot the song have been cancelled after Yash Chopra’s death. He died of multi-organ failure Oct 21.

“We had actually done the entire costume fittings, there were 12 saris which Manish (Malhotra) had made, and Yashji saw each one of them. He had also planned a sequence in the water (in freezing cold) and we were laughing about it. He said now we will just go to Switzerland and party,” said the actress.

And now, thanks to the latest news about our favourite superstar, Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan, we know for sure that chivalry is alive and kicking. If only other Indian men would learn from the King Khan!

‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ also stars Anushka Sharma and will hit theatres on 13th November, Diwali.
