The Academy Finally Reacts To Oscars’ Moonlight And La La Land Goof Up!

The huge blunder on Oscar 2017 stage had left everyone shocked after veteran actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced La La Land as the Best Film instead of Moonlight. After the La La Land team reached the stage to accept the award, it was announced that it happened to be a big mistake as not La La Land but Moonlight is the winner. It was great to see how La La Land graciously took the situation and handed the award to Moonlight team.

Speaking about the same, the academy said that they regret the mistake and are also investigating what went wrong. The Academy said in a statement on Monday: “We deeply regret the mistakes that were made during the presentation of the Best Picture category during last night’s Oscar ceremony. We apologise to the entire cast and crew of ‘La La Land’ and ‘Moonlight’ whose experience was profoundly altered by this error.”

“We salute the tremendous grace they displayed under the circumstances. To all involved – including our presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, the filmmakers, and our fans watching worldwide – we apologise.”

The statement also reads, “The PwC has taken full responsibility for the breaches of established protocols that took place during the ceremony. We have spent last night (Sunday) and today (Monday) investigating the circumstances, and will determine what actions are appropriate going forward.”

In an Oval Office interview with conservative website Breitbart News, US President Donald Trump also said, “Oscars organizers had taken their eyes off the ball because they “were focused so hard on politics.” “It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars,”

“It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad,” he added.
