Dengue, which is transmitted to people by mosquitoes, has taken the whole country by storm. Hundreds of people are diagnosed with Dengue. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is also the victim of the disease. The actress was diagnosed with Dengue on Friday. Soon action was taken and surrounding of her home was put into observation by BMC officials.
Reportedly, two of her neighbours including Shahid Kapoor have been served notice by the BMC, for failing to prevent breeding of aedes aegypti mosquito inside the swimming pool of the apartment. During the surveillance drive yesterday, BMC found mosquitoes breeding inside the swimming pool, which is not in use.
Shahid Kapoor, who lives two floors below Vidya Balan‘s flat, has been served notice under section 382 of the BMC Act that attracts a fine of upto Rs 10,000. The same notice has been sent to another neighbor too who lives on the third floor of the apartment.
