While working on Ek Tha Tiger, Kabir Khan learnt to identify and work with his lead actor, Salman Khan’s quirks.

“I will be honest. It took time for Salman and me to come on the same page. There were teething issues on how we look at the scenes and his character.”

But once both director and actor understood each other’s vision, things moved liked clockwork. In fact, Kabir felt that he may have pushed Salman a lot on the action sequences. “But after we learnt about his illness, we got scared and were careful. In fact, we have used a body double as much as any other filmmaker would,” said Kabir.

However, action was one aspect of it. Kabir Khan also needed to work around Salman’s time schedules. “Salman reports on the sets on his own time. He does not start his day early. And he was clear about it before we went on floors. But once he is on the sets, he is all yours till you wrap up. So well, you just have to plan your day with him intelligently,” explained the director.

Rumours of a tiff between Salman and Katrina Kaif on her costume also did the rounds. But Kabir explains it as two people who go back a long way and seek each other’s opinion on things. “But yes, there was an incident where they disagreed over Katrina’s costume in the song. It was over a particular cut in the black blouse she has worn with a yellow skirt.”
