MUMBAI: Director Mohit Suri’s sequel to the 1990 super hit cult classic ‘Aashiqui’, titled ‘Aashiqui 2’ has held steady on its Day 4 at the box office.

Produced under the banners of T-Series and Vishesh Films, ‘Aashiqui 2’ released on Friday 26 April 2013. The film features Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in leading roles.

Monday, Day 4 the film has garnered approximately Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crore) net at the ticketing counter. This is a very good figure for a weekday.

After having a decent first day and opening weekend SEE REPORT the four day total of ‘Aashiqui 2’ now stands in the range of Rs 241.3 million (Rs 24.13 crore) net. However, while the current scenario is heartening, new releases this Friday, i.e. Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Shootout At Wadala’ and ‘Bombay Talkies’ – a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema are likely provide strong competition at end of first week.
