Box Office: Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam’s First Monday Collections!

Drishyam-One of the much talked films of the year, Drishyam, which opened to a poor start is now slowly and steadily maintaining a decent speed at the Box Office. On its first weekend at the Box Office, the film had a good run and collected Rs. 21.85 crore net (218.5 million) approx. However, on Monday the film saw a little drop of 15% in the collections. Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer film had a decent business on its first Monday at the Box Office. The film managed to pull in Rs. 3.70 crore net (37 million) approx at the Box Office on its first Monday. After 4 days, the thriller suspense stands on Rs. 25.55 crore net (255.5 million) approx collections at the Box Office.

On its first day, the film received occupancy rate of only 10-20% at the Box Office and only managed to collect Rs. 5.25 crore net (52.5 million) approx.. However, director Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam saw a good jump on Saturday and collected Rs. 7.25 crore net (72.5 million) approx. at the Box Office. On Sunday, Ajay Devgn’s thriller suspense drama had a superb run at the Box Office and managed to collect Rs. 9.35 crore net (93.5 million) approx.

With a good first weekend run and decent first Monday business, Drishyam has collected Rs. 25.55 crore net (255.5 million) approx. at the Box Office in four days. If we include film’s paid preview collections, the total of Drishyam stands on Rs. 26 crore net (260 million) approx. The word of mouth has done it for the film. Drishyam is doing a really good business in places like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and UP. However, the film couldn’t attract movie lovers in West Bengal and Bihar.

Drishyam could have received much better reaction at the Box Office on its first weekend and Monday, if it wasn’t for Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which is still doing a good business. Ajay Devgn’s thriller suspense drama is released in over 2200 screens, yet the film didn’t succeed in doing a splendid business at the Box Office on its first weekend.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam will have to work really hard on its first week run at the Box Office and pull in some good numbers if it wishes to have a good run at the Box Office. For now, all our eyes are on Drishyam’s first week run at the Box Office.
