BOX OFFICE: ‘Himmatwala’ Loses Out To ‘Chashme Baddoor’

From a low start, UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Himmatwala’, directed by Sajid Khan, starring Ajay Devgn has dipped further in it's second week of business.

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ ‘Himmatwala’, directed by Sajid Khan, starring Ajay Devgn and southern star Tamannaah, has dipped in it’s second week of business.

With the release of David Dhawan’s ‘Chashme Baddoor’, the film ‘Himmatwala’ saw a poor second weekend; and the low collections were compounded by bad reviews and negative word-of-mouth.

The 10 day total of ‘Himmatwala’ stands at in the dull range of Rs 468 million (46.80 crore) net.

As reported, ‘Himmatwala’ opened with a fair opening of approximately Rs 118.2 million (Rs 11.82 crore net) on Friday. However, Saturday saw the collections nosedive to close to Rs 83.5 million (Rs 8.35 crore) net.

On Day 3, Sunday the film saw a very mild up swing, bringing the three day total up to the dismal range of Rs 292.7 million (Rs 29.27 crore) net.

Day 4 and Day 5 were no better, with collections dipping to close to Rs 41.5 million (Rs 4.15 crore) net and around Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crore) net respectively.

Day 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 combined saw a business of only about Rs 44.5 million (Rs 4.45 crore) net.
