Box Office: Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps grosses Rs 23 million in opening weekend

MUMBAI: Fox Star Studios India’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps has grossed Rs 23 million (Rs 2.30 crore) in its opening weekend in India.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which is a sequel to Oliver Stone’s revolutionary 1987 film Wall Street, was released on 24 September.

The movie stars Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf. According to Fox Star Studios India, the movie has had the second biggest opening of all time for a non-dubbed film in India and the highest opening weekend of all time for any non-dubbed 2D Hollywood release in India.

Fox Star Studios CEO Vijay Singh said, "The gripping story line, the power packed performances and the universally exciting theme of money, power and passion in the stock market have all contributed to the success of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, especially in India."

Fame India vice president programming, distribution and corporate sales Aditya Shroff added, "The audience reaction to the film has been very enthusiastic and the electric combination of Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf and Oliver Stone is turning out to be a huge crowd puller and we are expecting a even stronger week ahead."
