UTV’s World Movies channel goes on air

MUMBAI: World Movies, a 24-hour television channel from UTV is now on air. World Movies is available in CAS areas and all C&S households across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad through analog and digital boxes and more areas will be covered soon in the near future.

World Movies boasts of movies in French, Polish, Spanish, Romanian, Dutch, Thai, Japanese, Korean to name just a few. These movies will come with English subtitles.

Speaking on the launch, UTV Entertainment Television CEO Shantonu Aditya said, “World Movies is a channel for an up-market audience keeping in mind the needs of the increasingly global Indian. The channel offers contemporary, glamorous international movies from around the globe in varied genres. We launched the channel with an availability of 65 percent and projecting to close at 80 percent OTS within a short span.”

The line up for the first two weeks takes the viewer on a trip around the globe from the South Americas – Chile, Cuba, Colombia, Argentina to Spain, Canada, Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Poland and the USA. From “coming of age” movies, to dark humour, from comedy to horror, and from family drama to crime thrillers, World Movies brings you a movie watching experience truly above the ordinary.
