Yash Raj Films has acquired the overseas distribution rights for the Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan starrer, ‘D-Day’. YRF has been hugely successful in distributing films worldwide and this time the makers DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment have partnered with them for ‘D-Day’.

Even Yash Raj Films is happy with the association as Nikhil Advani, who has earlier directed romantic films is attempting a different genre all together.

Businessofcinema contacted Yash Raj Films Vice-President – International Operations, Mr. Avtar Panesar, who said, “The film has a great ensemble cast and is directed by Nikhil Advani…This time he is attempting a very different film and is telling a very compelling story. Apart the film is produced by DAR Media who is one of the most reputed production houses today.”

The bigger news is that ‘D-Day’ will not just release in key markets, but also in several other places, giving the film a huge boost in terms of making money at the box-office.“The film will release all over in key markets for Hindi films, including UAE, and GCC, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania to Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji etc.,” says Panesar.

“We always look at the film first and if we believe in it and share a common vision with the producer and director, we will put our might behind it. Ultimately it’s the audiences that will decide,” adds Panesar.

‘D-Day’ releases in theatres worldwide on 19th July 2013.
