After Panama Papers Leak, KBC Lands Amitabh Bachchan In Trouble!

Amitabh-Bachchan[tps_footer]Bollywood’s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is already stuck in Panama Papers leak and now Supreme Court has challenged the Bombay High Court’s order that gave a relief to Amitabh Bachchan from paying taxes and dismissed IT departments plea. This case is reopened and Amitabh Bachchan may not be able to escape from paying taxes according to the strong points IT department has made in it’s plea to the apex court. When Amitabh Bachchan was working in his popular television quiz show KBC, 2001-02, Bombay High Court had exempted Big B from paying a tax of huge amount, Rs 1.66 crores to IT department as he working in KBC as an artist but IT department has claimed that Amitabh Bachchan was not just working as a Bollywood actor, an artist, but he was the anchor of the quiz show.

Usually, tax exemptions are ordered when an artist performs in another country or is dealing with a foreign company and this is not the case with Amitabh Bachchan but still, he has asked for tax exemption under a wrong clause according to the Income Tax Department and the agency is trying it’s best to take out this heavy tax out of Big B‘s account and we wonder if they will succeed in taking out these taxes from him or will Amitabh Bachchan‘s legal team find out another way to evade taxes?

IT department should even think of collecting taxes from powerful ministers who feel they can use their chair and position for anything and also take out taxes from big businessmen like Vijay Mallya instead of just targeting Bollywood stars. We strongly feel all of us should pay our taxes and contribute to developing our country irrespective of our earnings, professions, gender, age, and much more.[/tps_footer]
