[tps_footer]Bollywood veteran actor Alok Nath, known for his decent and ‘sanskari’ roles in films like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ and ‘Vivah’, is all set to amaze the audience with his never seen new avatar. Alok Nath will don a new avatar for an adult chat show, titled ‘Sinskari’. The web series, which will be aired on Viacom 18’s digital platform Voot, is a one-of-a-kind celebrity chat show, featuring ‘babuji’ as the host of the show. In a candid chat with Business Of Cinema, Alok Nath shared about his new show, on being trolled and much more.
What was your first reaction when approached for adult chat show?
At the very first when I was told that its ‘Sanskari’ title show, I gave a nod but later when the makers of the show told me that it’s not Sanskari but ‘Sinskari’, I was surprised and told them that they have cheated on me and signed the contract. But then when I came to know about the concept and theme of the show, I was very much fine with it as it was something new and exciting that I had never tried. Web series is trending and people also love it, it is exciting to do something absolutely different.
Lots of memes and jokes have been doing rounds since a year; don’t you think adult theme web series might lead to another series of jokes?
At the very first I was shocked and was wondering why I am being targeted and made fun of despite not doing anything wrong. But later I understood that it’s a trend and after me some other new topic would trend, so it’s cool. Reacting negative to those memes and trolls will give rise to new controversy so it’s always good to take it in a positive way and it’s cool, as people even enjoy it. Even those memes and trolls and the character of ‘sanskari babuji’ would be a part of the show.
Which celebrities are coming on the show?
We have shot only two episodes yet and I have no idea which would go first but Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman would be the part of the episode and also Mandana Karimi would be a part of the second episode. Mandana Karimi was nice though with her broken Hindi she entertained in her own way. It was nice of her coming to the show.
Will viewers will get a chance to catch a glimpse of ‘Sanskari babuji‘?
“Yes, the ‘Sanskari’ tag which has been put on me would also be a part of the show in an entertaining way. Viewers will also enjoy the glimpse of it.[/tps_footer]
