MUMBAI: It is a well-known fact that Akshay Kumar has fans in Canada. But looks like with his villainous act in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara’ he has found an admirer in Hollywood star Al Pacino.
Al Pacino was discussing the changing film scenario when his manager Barry Navidi mentioned about gangster films. It was here that the mention of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ was made and Barry showed the film’s promo to Al Pacino.
The actor was pretty impressed and sent a word to the makers.
“My friend Barry Navidi showed me a promo of an Indian gangster film with Akshay Kumar. It brought back some fond memories of ‘Godfather’ days,” said Pacino.
Akshay Kumar also expressed his gratitude and says, “A touch of appreciation is always held dearly…But to have an actor like Al Pacino say such nice things about your work is something else. I had goose bumps thinking about him watching the promo! I was so humbled, not only as an actor but also as a fan of his work. I pray he enjoys the movie as much as he enjoyed the promo.”
Al Pacino has lately been bonding with Bollywood stars. Be it his recent chat with Abhishek Bachchan or a dinner date planned for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Thanks to daughter Aaradhya, the dinner plans had to be cancelled.
But with ‘The Godfather’ star praising Akshay Kumar, and his association with Bollywood stars growing, are we going to see the star make his Bolllywood debut soon?
For now Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria, director ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ can just invite him for a special preview of the film! It will be a noble gesture considering his praises for Akshay Kumar.
