[tps_footer]In the increasingly messy Amber Heard and Johnny Depp divorce saga, there have been many people who have chosen to speak up and share their own opinions on the intimate relationship and now death of this high profile relationship. One such person is Doug Stanhope, a friend of Depp. Stanhope has written a column getting into the depths of this divorce and according to him, “Amber was now going to leave him, threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn’t agree to her terms. Blackmail is what I would imagine other people might put it, including the manner in which he is now being vilified.”

This column came out a few days after Amber was granted a restraining order against Depp who happens to be out of the country, shooting in Spain. Amber has also said in the court that “during the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me.” Amber walked into court with a visible bruise on her face and has allegedly been struck, beaten and even attacked with a cell phone by Depp on various occasions.

While Depp has not directly addressed the situation, a statement on his behalf was given out to the media. “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
