Oscar Winner Alicia Vikander Roped In For Tomb Raider Reboot!

Starring in several movies last year to being nominated for Oscars, 2015-16 has been eventful for the actress. ‘The Danish Girl’ actress who won her first Oscar this year has been roped in for ‘Tomb Raider’. The Oscar-winning actress is all set to fill the famous boots of Angelina Jolie as she will be playing the iconic character Lara Croft in the new film of the ‘Tomb Raider’ video game series. She will be playing young Lara who is ready for her very first adventure and how she survives.

The new version of the video game series will be directed by ‘The Wave’ director, Roar Uthaug and is being co-produced by MGM, Warner Bros., and GK Films. Apart from this, nothing much has been revealed about other cast members and about the storyline! But, it has sure got every gaming fan excited on the revival of the film!

Earlier, the character of Lara Croft was played by Angelina Jolie in two films. The ‘Tom Raider’ movies did good and Angelina was loved by everyone. Alicia has pretty big shoes to fill in.

It was also reported that ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ actress Daisy Ridley was approached for the role but things did not work out. On the work front, Alicia will be seen next in Matt Damon‘s upcoming film, ‘Jason Bourne’.[/tps_footer]
