Hindu spiritual leader Rajan Zed who is based in USA, is the President of his organization named Universal Society of Hinduism. And on the official website of the same as well as Twitter, Zed has urged director of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ to delete all inappropriate references to Krishna. He tweeted, “Comparing #Krishna to villain #Apocalypse in #XMenApocalypse trailer was inappropriate. Delete references to Krishna unless scripture based.” According to him, Hollywood filmmakers should be educated about the ancient culture before making re-imagined versions of their own.

In the trailer of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’, the antagonist Apocalypse states, “I have been called many things over many lifetimes, Ra, Krishna and Yahweh.” While Ra and Yahweh stand as Gods of some other religion, Krishna is referred to the Hindu Lord which has now sparked a religious controversy. As of now, there has been no official response from the filmmakers including director Bryan Singer who has been targeted by Rajan Zed. Whether this gets blown out of proportion, or brings out a peaceful outcome, only time will tell. However, Indian fans have already started opposing this protest deeming it unnecessary.
