Academy Award-winning actor Paul Newman dies at 83

MUMBAI: Octogenarian Hollywood actor Paul Newman died at the age of 83.

Newman, who was suffering from Cancer, passed away on 26 September at his farmhouse in Westport, Connecticut.

Newman was an Academy Award-winning actor and director and has acted in films like The Sting, The Hustler, Nobody’s Fool, Cool Hand Luke, Slap Shot, Harper, The Verdict, and The Color of Money amongst others.

The actor won an Oscar for his performance in The Color of Money in 1986. Newman also received the 1986 honorary Oscar in part for "his personal integrity and dedication to his craft" as well as the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic work in 1994.
