Ashley Judd to act in film on US immigration

MUMBAI: Hollywood actor Ashley Judd may feature in The Weinstein Company’s next feature film Crossing Over.

The film already boasts a star cast comprising Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn and Cliff Curtis, reports founder Sheeraz Hasan. Written by director Wayne Kramer, the ensemble drama is set in Los Angeles with a storyline that revolves around immigrants from different countries and backgrounds who share a common bond as they desperately seek to gain legal status.

Judd is likely to play an immigration defense attorney trying to arrange the adoption of a Nigerian girl. The actor will also be seen in William Friedkin’s upcoming thriller, Bug, which tells the story of a paranoid war veteran who sees insects everywhere and holes up with a lonely woman in a spooky Oklahoma motel room.

The shooting for Crossing Over will begin by the end of April in Los Angeles, adds Hasan.
