Pete Doherty’s ongoing drug problems are putting a strain on his parents’ marriage – because his mother refuses to switch off her mobile phone at night in case she receives a call from the troubled British rocker.
The strain of being the mother of the Babyshambles frontman has led Jackie and her husband to sleep in separate rooms.
The mother says, “I feel I have to be contactable at all times. So there is no peace in the house. I won’t give up my son and I can’t give up my husband. If my husband chose to leave me that’s his decision.”
The on/off boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss wasn’t always such
a cause for concern however – during his childhood Pete was a choirboy and aspiring poet.
