MUMBAI: EMI Music Publishing has inked an exclusive administration agreement with Venevision International Publishing Inc., music publishing arm of Venevision International.
“I feel proud to be able to represent the Venevision catalog, whose exploitation in its successful TV programming reaches all five continents and I look forward to working with them to seize those many opportunities ahead of us. We accept this responsibility with the confidence that we have the outstanding capabilities to carry out this administration by registering copyrights, collecting and tracking income from TV uses around the world,” said EMI Music Publishing Latin America regional managing director Nestor Casonu.
As part of the worldwide deal, EMI will administer Venevision International Publishing’s vast catalog of copyrights, including all music incorporated in the programming produced by the production companies of the Cisneros Group of Companies, specifically Venevision, Venezuela’s premier television channel, and Venevision Productions, the leading independent producer for Spanish-language television programming in the US.
“Annually, the combined companies produce more than 3000 hours of internationally exportable television programming. And throughout our more than 35 years in the industry, Venevision International has amassed a vast catalog of Spanish-language television programming,” added Venevision International vice president and CFO Manuel Perez.
