MUMBAI: Star Wars creator George Lucas is the highest paid man in Hollywood, making $170 million in a year, according to Forbes’ list Hollywood’s 15 Highest-Paid Men. Following him is Steven Spielberg, who took in $150 million between June 2008 and June 2009.

Spielberg, who directed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, has recently also partnered with India’s business magnate Anil Ambani for a new Hollywood studio. The new company will initially invest $825 million in a slate of 5-6 films every year.

Third on the Forbes list was film and TV producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who has to his name series like CSI, The Amazing Race and Cold Case. Bruckheimer earns an estimated $100 million each year.

Forbes.com compiled the high-earning list by looking at producers, actors, writers, musicians and television personalities in the industry and then talking to Hollywood insiders to estimate earnings over the past 12 months.

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld came fourth in the list with $85 million, followed by television psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw who earned about $80 million last year.

Sixth in line is record producer and American Idol judge Simon Cowell with $75 million, along with TV producer Dick Wolf and movie maker Tyler Perry.
