Imax contributes box office revenue of $20 million for Inception

Mumbai: Inception, written and directed by Christopher Nolan, continued its strong performance during the second weekend and is expected to cross $20 million in worldwide gross box office today across Imax screens. The worldwide Imax total reached approximately $19.2 million through its second weekend.

The movie has so far grossed $4.8 million on 197 Imax screens in North America from 23 – 25 July. The film’s domestic Imax total has reached approximately $16.1 million.

The film also continued its strong Imax performance internationally, generating more than $1.8 million from 52 screens, bringing the international Imax total to approximately $3.2 million. " The word of mouth the film is generating is continuing to translate into solid box office returns worldwide, and we’re looking forward to continued success in the coming weeks," said Imax CEO Richard L. Gelfond. "We’re thrilled with the strong way Inception is holding its ground, which has become a calling card of Chris Nolan’s body of work. " added Imax Filmed Entertainment chairman and President Greg Foster.
