imeem inks content deal with Sony BMG

MUMBAI: Social media network – imeem and Sony BMG Music Entertainment have inked a new content agreement for the US and Canada through which imeem users will have access to Sony BMG’s digital catalog of music and video for ad-supported, free to the user streaming.


imeem and Sony BMG will also join forces to explore social media features, digital commerce opportunities, and collaborative brand sponsorships. 


The imeem service allows artists and fans to express their tastes, showcase their content and discover new media by creating and recommending user-generated playlists, video channels, photo slideshows, and blogs. The agreement gives imeem users on-demand access to recommend their favorites and discover new music and video from the extensive content library from Sony BMG’s labels and artists, including today’s popular artists, catalog classics, and new emerging talent.
