Israel Fest to honour Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal

MUMBAI: For her years of innovation and success as a studio leader, as well as her efforts to support women in film, the 22nd Israel Film Festival will be honouring Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman and Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group chairman Amy Pascal with the 2007 IFF Visionary Award.

Pascal was recently named by The Hollywood Reporter as the entertainment industry’s most powerful woman. She has, over the past two decades, overseen production of such hit films as Casino Royale, The Pursuit of Happyness, The DaVinci Code, Click, Hitch, Something’s Gotta Give, Spider-Man, 50 First Dates, Men in Black 2, and Charlie’s Angels, among many others.

Under her, Sony has been the number one studio in North America for three out of the last five years. In addition to her achievements in filmed entertainment, Pascal serves on the AFI Board of Trustees as well as the executive board of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
