NRI filmmaker Gurinder Chadha whose forefathers migrated from Africa to 
London, finds herself moving from Amritsar to America.Gurinder is making a film starring John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez.The movie is based on the popular American serial Dallas.
For Chadha the deal is a shot in the arm as it affirms the market for Brit-Asian films. Chadha says that these films now have a huge credibility and respect in Hollywood. Chadha made Bhaji on the Beach followed by Bend it Like Beckham. But she could not complete Sunny Deol’s film London and was thrown out.Chadha is currently promoting the film Mistress of Spices which she has co-written and produced with her husband Paul Mayeda Berges.
