Lionsgate Television International expands in Hong Kong; Stuart exits Australia ops

MUMBAI: Lionsgate confirmed that Tim Stuart, Vice President Asia Pacific Sales, left the company effective 10 June as Lionsgate looks to expand its regional operations in Hong Kong and reduce its presence in Australia. The company will seek to hire a Hong Kong-based senior distribution executive within the coming months.

In the interim, Wendy Reeds, vice president international & home entertainment sales, will manage sales for Japan and South Korea. Jenny Suen, sales director, based in Hong Kong, will oversee sales for the balance of continental Asia. Amanda Cordner, vice president international, will oversee distribution for Australia and New Zealand.

In announcing the move to consolidate distribution for continental Asia in Hong Kong, Peter Iacono, who heads Lionsgate International, said, “We thank Tim Stuart for his valuable contributions during his tenure at Lionsgate and look forward to being closer to our clients in Asia from our base in Hong Kong. Regretfully, Tim Stuart will not make the move. Tim has created a strong base for us in the region. We thank him, and we will miss his expertise.”

Stuart added, “It was a tough decision but I have firm family commitments in Australia. I am pleased to have spent four years building the Australasian base for Lionsgate and look forward to my next phase of business here in Sydney.”
