Martinez joins MPAA as VP corp comm

MUMBAI: The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has appointed today announced Angela Belden Martinez to its public affairs team as vice president of corporate communications.

Martinez will be responsible for day-to-day corporate communications operations in the MPAA’s Washington, D.C. office, reporting directly to Seth Oster, MPAA Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer.

“Angela’s background on Capitol Hill, in state politics, and on the agency side, where she has worked with leading companies and trade associations, give her incredibly well-rounded experience that will be a great asset to our industry efforts in Washington. We’re thrilled to have her on the MPAA team as we work to advance intellectual property rights and raise awareness of our industry’s many contributions to US culture and commerce,” Oster said.

In addition to day-to-day media relations activities, Martinez will focus on public affairs duties relating to MPAA’s D.C.-based legislative, education and other advocacy efforts. Prior to joining MPAA, Martinez served with leading public relations firms in Washington, as Midwest Regional Political Director/Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), and in various roles in government and politics in her home state of Indiana.
