MUMBAI: Seville Entertainment, a subsidiary of Entertainment One and Maximum Films have inked a multi-picture agreement with Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Films, which provides for their joint acquisition of Canadian rights to a slate of feature films.

Amongst the films are: Flawless starring multiple Academy Award winner and nominee Michael Caine and Golden Globe nominee Demi Moore; filmmaker Brian De Palma’s film Redacted; and Emmy Award winning producer Graydon Carter’s documentary, Surfwise. The two Canadian theatrical distributors will co-distribute the films throughout Canada in all media.

Seville Entertainment co-president David Reckziegel added, “This arrangement makes good business sense. I am thrilled that we are acquiring these films from Magnolia/HDNet as it extends a great partnership with Magnolia with whom we had a growing relationship with.”

Entertainment One president Patrice Theroux added, “I’m also excited to have the opportunity to collaborate again with Robert in acquiring these films with Maximum given we worked together for over 10 years at Alliance. We all hope that this deal will be another stepping stone to a promising future.”

The package was negotiated by Maximum General Counsel Mark Musselman and Theroux along with Laird Adamson and Jeff Cuban for HDNet/Magnolia.
