MIPTV & Sony Corp launch Global 3DTV initiative

MUMBAI: MIPTV has launched a new 3D content initiative in partnership with Sony Corporation. The new initiative is designed to facilitate and develop business contacts between 3D content producers and 3D channels.
MIPTV 2011 will host a dedicated “3DTV Broadcast Content Experience” pavilion in the main exhibition zone, allowing 3D channel buyers to meet with 3D content producers and where all MIPTV delegates can view high-quality 3DTV programmes.
Producers of outstanding new 3D content will be invited to screen their programmes to acquisition executives from 3net, the joint venture 3D television network backed by Sony Corporation, Discovery Communications and IMAX Corporation as well as other leading buyers from international 3D channels.
In addition, MIPTV will feature a series of conferences April 6, devoted to all aspects of the 3D business and bringing together producers, broadcasters, digital and mobile operators, as well as hardware companies.
