MTV appoints veteran film journalist to spearhead new movie initiative

MUMBAI: MTV Networks has appointed veteran film journalist Scott Robson as vice president of New Movie Initiatives. The announcement was made by MTV Networks Music & Logo executive vice president Dermot McCormack.

 

In this newly created role, Robson will oversee new movie related projects and will work alongside editors at MTV Music Group’s online properties that include MTV.com and VH1.com to enhance and expand their movie related content. He will report to McCormack.

 

"Given our audience’s passion for movies, this appointment reflects our commitment to consistently provide compelling and relevant content in this space," McCormack said. "Scott’s background in contextualizing entertainment-related content and advancing online platforms will position us for continued growth."

 

MTV Music Groups’ current movie offerings include the annual MTV Movie Awards, which will premiere live on MTV on Sunday, 6 June , with comedian Aziz Ansari slated to host. Online offerings include the popular MTV Movies blog, http://moviesblog.mtv.com, and the movies’ section of VH1’s TheFABlife.com, http://movies.thefablife.com, which in addition to featuring the day’s latest movie news has covered VH1’s live telecasts of the annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
