Music industry veteran joins Notion Music

MUMBAI: Richard Llewellyn has joined Notion Music as sales director in the United Kingdom.

With over 20 years experience in the music industry, Llewellyn started his career in music publishing working for Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers and IMP. He then moved to Yamaha instruments where he was a Regional Manager in the Acoustic division. Following 5 years at Yamaha, he was named International sales manager for MakeMusic Inc., directing the international sales efforts for their music notation software programs.

Llewellyn said, "This is a really exciting time for music software, especially with the success of Guitar Hero, Rock Band and the newly announced Disney ‘Star’ guitarist series. Notion music gives everyone the opportunity, inspiration and creative tools to help make your own music whatever level you are at and in any style. The Notion family of intuitive software programs are easy to use and offer a great opportunity of increased sales with very good profit margins. Every guitarist could be getting creative using Progression and I would encourage all students learning music to invest in a copy of Protege – it’s inexpensive and a lot quicker than writing things down on a piece of manuscript paper. Plus you get the included sounds of the London Symphony Orchestra playing your composition back to you. Now that can’t be bad!"

Kris Karra adds "We are delighted to have Richard on board. With his background and experience in this field, we’ll be in an even stronger position to promote and support sales here in the UK and abroad. His passion for helping others engage in creative music expression is a real asset and I know he’ll succeed in strengthening the Notion brand and increasing sales."
