Mumbai: Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group president Cyma Zarghami will present the MIPCOM Junior 2008 Keynote on Sunday 12 October at the 16th edition of MIPCOM Junior, the specialist international screening marketplace and conference for children’s programming and merchandising at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes.
During her Keynote Address, Zarghami will share her vision of how the localization of global hit creative properties can result in a stronger worldwide brand presence.
The programme will also feature major industry figures such as Walt Disney Internet Group MD Europe, Middle East & Africa Cindy Rose; Worldwide, Kids managing director Paul Robinson; Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher; Global Digital Media Group Marvel Entertainment EVP Ira Rubenstein. In addition, it will include Al Jazeera Children’s deputy managing director Mostapha Mellouk; Dailymotion senior manager content & partnerships David Ripert; Children’s, BBC Worldwide managing director Neil Ross Russell; Magic Lantern Productions managing director Anthony Lilley; Children & Youth, ZDF head international co-productions & acquisitions Nicole Keeb and Stardoll CEO Matthias Mickshe.
In conjunction with "Focus on Spain," the special countries focus taking place at MIPCOM, the Catalan channel TV3 will be hosting a conference under the heading "Animation from Spain: Sharing Expertise."
Other key events include the fifth edition of the "MIPCOM Junior Licensing Challenge" in which a selection of the newest TV properties will be showcased. A jury of perceptive industry experts will evaluate their licensing and merchandising potential.
New this year, a Matchmaking Breakfast will create a networking forum for programming investors and licensing.
