Mumbai: Paramount Vantage will handle international sales on Academy Award winner Neil Jordan’s latest feature Ondine.
Currently in production, the cast includes Colin Farrell, Alicja Bachleda, Stephen Rea and introduces Alison Barry. The Director of Photography is Christopher Doyle. Vantage is handling worldwide sales excluding North America which will be represented by CAA.
Ondinetells the story of Syracuse (Farrell), a local fisherman whose everyday life is transformed by a beautiful and mysterious woman (Bachleda) whom he fishes from the sea and who his young daughter, Annie (Alison Barry), believes is a mermaid. But like all fairytales, enchantment and darkness go hand in hand. The movie tells a story about hope, love, and the value of believing in magic.
Jordan said, "We feel we’ve found the perfect home for the film with Paramount Vantage and I’m pleased to be working with Farrell again who brings tremendous depth to his characters. Ondine is an insanely romantic love story that exists within the realms of a fantasy world that pushes through the boundaries of the real world."
"We are excited to be embarking on this relationship with Neil and Wayfare Entertainment," said Walton. "We are confident that the international marketplace will embrace this contemporary take on a timeless fairytale, and the vision of this world class team of filmmakers."
Ben Browning of Wayfare Entertainment and James Flynn of Octagon Films will produce with Neil Jordan.
Maher, Peter Rawlinson, and Ned Dowd, Wayfare Entertainment and the Irish Film Board financed the film. The film is shooting on location in Ireland.
