Sherman replaces David Geffen on DreamWorks Animation’s board

MUMBAI: DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc has appointed Richard Sherman to its board of directors. Sherman has stepped into the shoes of David Geffen, who recently resigned from the board.

Sherman has served as CEO of The David Geffen Company, an investment management company, since 1992. Prior to assuming this position, Sherman was a partner with Breslauer, Jacobson, Rutman and Sherman, a business management firm serving the entertainment industry. He previously served as a staff accountant with Peat, Marwick and Mitchell.

"Richard is very familiar with our company and brings a far-reaching background in finance along with substantial industry expertise. On behalf of our entire Board, I would like to welcome Richard to the company," said DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Sherman is a certified public accountant and serves on the Boards of Directors for Aviva Family and Children’s Services, The Geffen Playhouse and The David Geffen Foundation.

With the appointment of Sherman, DreamWorks Animation’s Board of Directors currently has 12 members including: DreamWorks Animation chairman Roger Enrico, Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation president and CFO Lew Coleman, Ariel Capital Management president Mellody Hobson, Intellectual Ventures CEO Nathan Myhrvold, eBay former president and CEO Meg Whitman, PepsiCo, Inc. retired vice chairman and CFO Karl von der Heyden, NAVTEQ president and CEO Judson Green, Montgomery & Co president Michael Montgomery, Viacom former president and CEO Tom Freston, and entertainment attorney Skip Brittenham.
