Sony Pictures Classics acquires Atom Egoyan’s Adoration

Mumbai: Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the US, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand rights to Atom Egoyan’s eleventh film Adoration.

Adoration re-teams the Oscar-nominated director with producer Robert Lantos who has been involved in seven of Egoyan’s films and re-teams Lantos with Sony Pictures Classics. Their last collaboration was on Being Julia, which garnered an Oscar nomination for its star Annette Bening in 2005. The film will have its world premiere in the official competition at the Cannes International Film Festival on 22 May.

Adoration speaks to our connections — with each other, with our family history, with technology and with the modern world. The film stars Arsinee Khanjian, Scott Speedman, Rachel Blanchard and Devon Bostick.

"I’m thrilled to be working with Sony Pictures Classics on Adoration," stated Egoyan. "Michael and Tom were vital in introducing my work to the U.S. in the early nineties, and this will be a great opportunity to work together again. They’re the perfect distributor for this film."

Lantos says, "In Michael and Tom’s nurturing hands Adoration has found a perfect home."
