Sony Pictures Entertainment ups Keith Weaver to EVP

Mumbai: Keith Weaver has been promoted to executive vice president, worldwide government affairs for Sony Pictures Entertainment.

He will report to Sony Pictures Entertainment senior executive vice president and general counsel Leah Weil.
 
“In nearly a decade at Sony Pictures, Keith has proven himself to be nothing short of a superstar. Through his insight, he has helped us navigate the entertainment business landscape and legislative and regulatory issues that surround it,” said Weil.
 
Weaver will oversee all aspects of the SPE’s government relations and public policy activities as well as community affairs. Weaver has been with the company since June 2002 when he joined as a vice president in government affairs and has served as senior vice president since October 2005.
 
“I’m proud to expand my role at Sony Pictures,” said Weaver. “At this transformative time for our industry and the policies that surround it, it has been rewarding for me to work for a team that continues to demonstrate a balance of vision and execution.”
 
Weaver and his team work with SPE’s operating units and corporate staff groups to develop the company’s legislative and regulatory agenda that supports the business strategies and initiatives of the motion picture, television, home entertainment and digital entertainment divisions. He plays a role in the studio’s affiliations with the Motion Picture Association.
