Sony Pictures Television International promotes Weissenborn

Mumbai: Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Jamie Weissenborn to senior vice president, digital media, and global advertising sales, for SPTI’s international networks group. The announcement was made by Andy Kaplan, SPTI’s president, international networks, to whom Weissenborn reports.

"Jamie’s added responsibilities come as a result of his unique skill-set and vision to enhance our digital presence in a way that complements our ambitious television strategy," said Kaplan. "As advertising revenue becomes a bigger driver in our networks’ growth, Jamie plans to meet advertiser demand for digital marketing by creating cohesive, cross platform solutions that go beyond television spots and sponsorships."

In response to technological advances and online user trends, Weissenborn adds oversight of the international networks group’s digital distribution strategy, site enhancement, traffic growth initiatives, media sales, and digital revenue. He oversees brand driven partnerships and integrations that create unique entertainment experiences across multiple screens. He also manages online video, site design, search engine optimization, commerce, and other site partnerships.

Additionally, he continues to head global advertising sales initiatives, branded content, new channel and revenue development. His responsibilities span SPTI’s AXN, ANIMAX and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) channel brands. SPTI’s international networks group is comprised of over 50 channels reaching close to 400 million viewers in over 130 countries.

Prior to his promotion, Weissenborn served as SPTI’s vice president, global advertising sales, international networks, since 2004. Before that, he had been a sales, marketing and revenue consultant for the international networks group where he led a review of the ad sales and marketing operations of SPTI’s SET, MAX and AXN networks in India.
