Sony Pictures Televisions promotes Lake to VP, research

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Robin Lake to vice president, research. Based at SPTI’s global headquarters in Culver City, California, Lake heads all research and related analysis for SPTI. Lake will report to SPTI executive vice president, marketing Kim Hatamiya.

“Robin has made tremendous contributions to our in-house knowledge of U.S. and global TV markets, competitors’ product, local language productions and our domestic TV production slate. Under her leadership, SPTI’s research team provides important analyses that help SPTI’s distribution, TV networks and TV production businesses. With her background, having worked previously in several international markets, and her thorough understanding of all of our businesses, Robin is an invaluable member of SPTI’s management team,” said Hatamiya.

In her new position, Lake oversees a team based in Culver City performing quantitative and qualitative research for all SPTI businesses, including analyses of international TV ratings data, special studies for the international networks group, including research for networks global advertising sales, and focus group/panel testing of multi-platform digital content. Lake will also work closely with SPTI’s research personnel located in London (for Europe, the Middle East and Africa), Miami (for Latin America) and Hong Kong (for Asia).
