Steinberg promoted to EVP, talent and casting at Sony

Mumbai:  Dawn Steinberg has been upped to executive vice president, talent and casting, Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced by SPT programming and production co-presidents Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht to whom she reports.

Based in Culver City, Steinberg will continue to work closely with casting directors and oversee casting of all current SPT series, movies and miniseries, as well as SPT’s projects in development for network, cable and first-run syndication.
Recently, Steinberg has been instrumental in the casting of Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad, Rose Byrne in Damages, J.B. Smoove in ‘Til Death, and Patrick Swayze in The Beast, as well as greatly contributed to the casting of shows such as Rescue Me My Boys, Rules of Engagement and The Unusuals. With this promotion, she will also supervise casting for new media.

"Dawn has a great eye for talent, and has played a key role in our success," said Erlicht. "We have won multiple Emmys and Golden Globes because Dawn puts the right actors in the right roles," said Van Amburg.

Steinberg joined SPT in July 2003 as senior vice president, talent and casting. Prior to that, Steinberg served as a casting consultant for NBC Studios.
