Target joins hands with iTunes store to offer exclusive albums

MUMBAI: Target has joined hands with the iTunes Store to provide a special Target area on iTunes for exclusive album content.

The first album to be featured will be Pearl Jam’s forthcoming ninth studio album, Backspacer. Scheduled for release on September 20, Backspacer will be available in the U.S. exclusively through Target, Target.com, iTunes, Pearl Jam’s Ten Club website and independent retailers.

Beginning today through September 20, guests who pre-order Backspacer on iTunes will receive an instant download of lead single "The Fixer." As part of the launch, Pearl Jam will also premiere their music video for "The Fixer" on iTunes as a free download.

Our guests love being able to buy iTunes Gift Cards at Target, and we think this is yet another great option for them," said Target senior vice president, merchandising Mark Schindele

Accessible through the iTunes Store and Target.com, the Target area on iTunes will have exclusive album content such as bonus tracks, behind-the-scenes video footage, Apps for your iPhone or iPod touch.
