LOS ANGELES: Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci’s production house has recently signed a two-year deal with Universal Pictures. Their first two projects under this deal is the remake of ‘The Mummy’ and ‘Van Helsing’.

Stephen Sommers’ original ‘Van Helsing’ (2004) starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale, was an American action horror film. Jackman essayed the role of the vigilante monster hunter Gabriel Van Helsing. The titular character was inspired by Abraham Van Helsing from Irish author Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula.

The film, which critics gave negative reviews, failed to rake up good figures at the box-office in the United States but covered up with the overseas business.
