MUMBAI: World Films, Inc. has signed a deal with Universal Vivendi to release its film The Butcher in the US on 7 April. The release will mark the worldwide distribution of The Butcher throughout the states, Europe and Australia.
"This release of The Butcher is truly pivotal for World Films as it showcases the magnitude of our film’s success and continues to demonstrate our capabilities as a first-rate production company," said World Films executive producer and CEO Thad Pryor.
A cast led by Academy Award – and Golden Globe-nominated Eric Roberts, The Butcher is a high-action drama written and directed by Jesse Johnson. The film recounts the story of an ex-prize fighter turned mob enforcer unlucky in love and life, but every dog has his day and The Butcher will have his—all for a price.
The Butcher co-stars Robert Davi along with Emmy Award-winning star of film, television and stage Keith David, Finnish actress Irina Bjorklund; and Michael Ironside.
