Warner Bros. Pictures names Paul Broucek as president, music

MUMBAI: Warner Bros. Pictures Group has appointed veteran music executive and producer Paul Broucek as president, Music. The announcement was made by Warner Bros. Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov.

Effective immediately, Broucek will be responsible for the overall creative direction of Warner Bros. Pictures’ music operations and also oversee the department’s administrative, production and day-to-day business functions, reporting directly to Robinov.

He’ll further be charged with the strategic development and deployment of music-related initiatives to meet the needs of Warner Bros. Pictures’ producers and directors. In addition, Broucek will have oversight of New Line Records, serving as its president, and reporting to New Line Cinema president Toby Emmerich, regarding that business.

"Music plays an incredibly important and creative role in filmmaking," said Robinov. "In addition to being incredibly talented, Paul has terrific instincts and relationships throughout the music and film industries and can help us evolve our theatrical music operation, both from a business and a creative aspect. I really look forward to working with him."
