MUMBAI: ZillionTV has signed a content agreement with The Weinstein Company. The announcement was made at MIPTV.
The Weinstein Company joins ZillionTV’s roster of more than 40 content providers, including Disney, 20th Century Fox Television, NBC Universal, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. As a result of this agreement, films from the Weinstein Company’s library, ranging from Soul Men and Vicky Cristina Barcelona to The Reader and Zack and Miri Make a Porno, will be available on ZillionTV in 2009.
“We are thrilled to have Weinstein come onboard as one of our premier content partners. This deal further bolsters the ZillionTV content library offering, providing ZillionTV viewers with Weinstein’s award-winning films. It is also fitting to announce this partnership at MIPTV, among the biggest names in the entertainment content market,” said ZillionTV chief executive officer Mitch Berman.
“We are actively seeking digital distribution models to deliver our films to new audiences. ZillionTV provides us with the perfect method, giving us the opportunity to offer a wide variety of titles, all of which will be prominently featured on the service through its customizable platform,” said The Weinstein Company president of domestic TV and distribution David Spiegelman.
Through the ZillionTV Service, content creators can give consumers instant and subscription-free access to their portfolio of content through a cost-effective and fully-customizable distribution platform.
